Is it possible to clone a group of people? Heres the problem, I only have a possibilty of 50 extra's... my screenplay that I wrote just couldn't be satisfied with only 50 people, so what I was wondering is if it was possible to do the old "section filming" trick.
You know, film fifty people running on the right side of the camera screen, then move them around, give them different costumes and film them on the left side of the screen, then the back right, back left. And then somehow get them all to show up on the screen at the same time (so now I'm leading a charge of 200 rather than 50...) any help?

it could be possible in pro but would be a lot easier in after effects.
The only way i can think of doing it in pro is by using a transistion such as horizontal slide and altering it so that it creates a split screen effect. Then export that to a video file and use that file with another piece of video and use a vertical slide to create another split screen effect. In the end this would create the four different sections you are talking about.
The difficulty of filming and editing a scene like this convincingly is huge though. You would have to film it from a very high and wide angle

i know this probobly isn't on the scale you are looking for but this is a video i did with some cloning tricks. don't expect it to make any sence it was in response to another video a friend of mine made and it is sort of a big inside joke...but you might like it anyway.
